Pre-release info (mostly from the news archives of TheOneRing.net)

May 07, 02 : A list of TTT promo goodies includes "May: The Two Towers teaser trailer released in theaters nationwide."

May 27, 02 : Harry at AICN says he's seen the new teaser. He writes: Ultimately I couldn't help but be disappointed by the lack of new imagery. Sure many people haven't seen the TWO TOWERS footage that was shown at Cannes last year, many didn't return to FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING to see the extended TWO TOWERS trailer, so for many this will most likely be their first chance to see footage from TWO TOWERS beyond the glimpses on ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT or other such programs. Frankly though, I feel with each new step, they should be bringing us mainly new imagery. Making us hunger for more and more. Personally I just want the movie out now. It's the film I wish to be seeing this Memorial Day.

June 17, 02 : Tehanu writes, "No idea what happened to the new trailer for TTT that was supposed to come out in May." Xoanan adds, "I heard something about July...we'll see."

June 24, 02 : Word is the trailer will be attached to Men In Black II opening July 2.

Debuted online, June 25, 02 and in theaters, July 02, 2002

June 25, 02 : TORn gets a heads up that the new trailer is on the web and posts links.

TORn Screencaps

A screencap of the Sacking of the Westfold is described as, "Sauron’s conquest of Middle-earth before the Last Alliance."
"More of Sauron’s conquest, note the Mordor orc." Of course, we now know these are Dunlendings sent by Saruman.
An image of the screen filled with flames (I'm guessing another Westfold image) is described as: Middle-earth burning up in the wake of Sauron. Is that a Nazgul we can see wheeling in the top left? Calisuri thinks so.
